My Favorite childhood book.

I loved this book as a kid and I still do as a matter of fact. My mom saved it for me and brought it over to me today. I can't wait to read it to the girls although I may have to have the binding redone first. I hope my girls love it as much as I do. By the way, this is where I learned that Fuzzy - Wuzzy was a bear.

Take me with you.

On nice nights Ryan likes to go on the golf course when the golfers have left to hit a few balls. Sometimes Buster gets to come with him but tonight she so obviously did not. I was finally able to get her to leave the fence and come inside but I couldn't stop her from staring out just waiting for her dads return. "Did he forget me?"

The little angels

These are some pictures Grandpa Doug took of the girls looking sweet.

The angels have a dark side

Buster will kiss and make things better for Delaney.

Cali (again)

Delaney

So the girls are starting to get a bit fussy during certain parts of the day (like the waking hours). Not exactly sure why but we're trying everything. It gets pretty bad in the evening before bed and last night (Grandpa Doug's first night meeting them) was the worst. Mostly because they all got fussy at once. Even laid back Jocelyn joined in from time to time and nothing was really helping. By the time they went to bed and fell asleep I thought I was doomed and this was a new phase that I may not live through. Today was much better though and even though they are still more fussy these days than before I realize it only seems impossible when they are screaming all at once. It sounds CRAZY.

Classic Doug

Doug (AKA Grandpa) is finally getting to meet the trio after nursing his dog back to health from a major surgery she had recently. He bought us our stroller and was excited to use it. He wanted to go somewhere with the girls to show them off to random people and where better than his favorite place in the world, Costco. I got to stay home and catch up on my sleep which was awesome! The plan to show off the girls apparently worked too because Ryan said they were stopped by people who asked "Are those triplets?" about every minute. "Uh no actually they're quads but we leave the ugly one at home". The gawking was more than welcome as that was the whole agenda for the trip in the first place.
I have to say that you never know what kind of Grandparents your parents will be until you have kids of your own. I wasn't sure if Doug would be the kind who likes to look and admire or more of a hands on kind of Grandpa and the verdict is in. He's definitely hands on. I felt like I was on vacation this morning with him telling me to go back to bed, that he's got it covered. Eventually, enough was enough though as I finally started my day around noon. He actually changed several diapers even and they were poopy too. Good havin ya Doug!

The play room

We had decided to turn the guest room into a playroom for the girls and I got the idea of painted frames and flower pots from pottery barn kids (page 74 &75 if you have the mag.) My Aunt Teri came to town for the week to help Ryan and I with the girls and since I am not artistic at all I put her to work. She is very good at crafts and such and even though the design itself seems simple enough, I could never have made it look so nice and cute on my own so thank you Aunt Teri for the room and the help with the girls. It was fun having you and thanks to Ryan and my mom too. Ryan painted the walls, changed out the out the outlets put together the shelves and put up the the curtain. My mom found the pictures at Marshalls if anyone wants to know since they're so cute! It was pretty amazing that I found what I wanted to do to the room one night and the next day she went into the Marshalls and found pictures that perfectly matched the design, we were pretty pleased.

Delaney did it too!

This morning Delaney rolled over during tummy time from stomach to back. We didn't get it on camera because she only did it once, and Cali did it again today too!

The Man who made it happen,

Yesterday we had an eye Dr. apt. for the girls so we decided to make it a day and see our fertility Doctor, Dr. Patel beforehand since we still had a final bill to pay and papers to sign there anyway. He was so happy to see us. The whole staff stopped whatever they were doing to come and meet theirs, ours, and God's creation. Dr. Patel says he is still amazed when he sees the babies after birth since he sees what they start out as. He still can't believe the end result is such a miracle and in our case 3. Only once before had he ever had 2 implanted embryos result in 3 babies. Don't I feel lucky.

Oh boy, Oh boy, it's a boy, it's a boy!!

It's official, Colin and Brittany are having Twin boys. They just found out today what the sexes are and we are so thrilled for them. I'm pretty sure it's just what Colin wanted and Brittany makes such a good mom to their boy Justin that I know she will handle being outnumbered by the boys as well as Ryan is handling being outnumbered by the girls around here. Now Doug and Sandie will have 3 grandsons and 3 granddaughters so it'll be up to Jocelyn to break the tie. Although at this rate she will probably just have boy/girl twins.

What a Surprise!

Cali hates tummy time but we never expected this at only 6 and a half weeks! This is the third time she did it this morning.

No theme, Just pics

The girls are sleeping after our walk today.
Do you know who this one is? I had to check the girls outfits to see today because Laney and Cali were not side by side (Joc was between them) so it was harder to tell.
Getting ready for the bedtime bottle
She's exhausted because she THINKS she's helping out with the girls. What a trooper
This is Jocelyn's shirt (you can tell by the J marked inside) and Quickly becoming the most faded. It seems every time Ryan picks the outfits she's in this one.

Play time

The pictures probably all look pretty much the same, but hey, they're babies. You're not gonna get any action shots. It's like the game in the Highlights magazines at the doctors office where two pictures are almost the same but with subtle differences.

Mystery Man

My mom's been staying with us most of these last few weeks and the other night when Ryan went off to bed she asked me if I even know how great of a husband Ryan is. He has been feeding babies, changing diapers doing laundry, dishes, dinner, cleaning the house, yard work, washing cars, grocery shopping... Basically He's been taking care of everything he can think of to make my life as easy as possible and as my mom was saying. Most men wouldn't even think about doing half the things he does for me.
It got me thinking about when I was growing up and how there wasn't a night that went by that my mom and I didn't pray over whoever my future husband was and that he was being raised to be wonderful. I'm thinking that it must be satisfying to my mom to know that the Mystery man we used to pray over (and still do of course) is above even our expectations and that her daughter is so happy.
